What does the name amethyst mean?
The name comes from the Greek word *amethystos*, meaning "not intoxicated". Ancient Greeks believed the stone kept its wearer sober.

It's dispatched within 1 to 2 working days (it can take 3 to 4 from October to December). Parcels up to 2kg go by Royal Mail and arrive 2 to 5 working days after dispatch; heavier ones go by next-day courier.
