Questions and answers

How does a backflow incense burner work?

Light a backflow cone and place it on top of the burner. The smoke flows down through the burner instead of rising, and cascades downwards like a small waterfall.

Why is my backflow burner not working?

Check that it is a backflow cone, as backflow cones are needed to create the smoke cascade effect. Burn one cone at a time, as several of these burners advise, and keep it away from draughts, which break up the smoke.

Which cones do backflow burners take?

Backflow cones, burned one at a time, as several of these burners state. You will find them in the backflow cone collections linked below.

What are the burners made of?

Most are ceramic. Others are resin and metal, like the skull and fairy designs, and the mango wood burners made in India come in small, medium and large sizes.

How big are backflow burners?

It depends on the design. The Mini Mountain burner is about 10 x 5.5 x 6cm, while the Large Dragon Pool is about 20 x 16 x 17cm and weighs 850g. Each product page gives the size.
